FAQ's

The Colosseum, originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater, was completed in 80 AD. That means this incredible monument has stood for nearly 2,000 years, surviving earthquakes, fires, and centuries of change — still one of the most remarkable symbols of Ancient Rome.

The Colosseum was commissioned by Emperor Vespasian around 70 AD as a gift to the Roman people. It was later completed by his son, Emperor Titus, in 80 AD. The finishing touches, including an additional level, were added under Emperor Domitian shortly after.

No, the film Gladiator wasn’t shot inside the real Colosseum. Instead, the production team recreated parts of the amphitheater using sets and digital effects. The story is set during the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius and his son Commodus around 180 AD, but most of the plot and characters are fictional, inspired by real Roman history.

The Roman Forum, known as Foro Romano, was the political, religious, and commercial heart of Ancient Rome. It hosted public speeches, ceremonies, elections, and celebrations. Today, visitors can walk among its ancient ruins and imagine life during the height of the Roman Empire.

Palatine Hill is one of the seven hills of Rome and is considered the birthplace of the city. According to legend, it’s where Romulus founded Rome in 753 BC. In ancient times, it became the home of emperors and aristocrats, offering panoramic views over the Roman Forum and Circus Maximus. Today, it’s one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in the city, filled with imperial ruins and rich history.
