The Sistine Chapel is housed in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope in Vatican City. It was originally named Cappella Magna and is part of the Vatican Museums.

The Pietà in St. Peter’s Basilica is invaluable, making it one of the most treasured sculptures in the world. By comparison, the Michelangelo Pietà in Ragusa has been estimated at $300 million.

The construction of St. Peter’s Basilica spanned almost 120 years, involving several architects and artists. Key figures include Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno, and Bernini, all of whom left their mark on this Renaissance masterpiece.

There are four Raphael Rooms in the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican Museums: Sala di Costantino, Stanza di Eliodoro, Stanza della Segnatura, and Stanza dell’Incendio di Borgo. Each room features unique frescoes, including the famous The School of Athens.

Meet us at the Easy Dream Tours office, Via Germanico 8 – just a short walk from the Ottaviano Metro stop (Line A). We recommend arriving 25 minutes early to check in with our team.

Please remember: we can’t hold personal items at the office, so bring only what you need for the tour.

Dress Code Guidelines

To respect the sacred spaces of the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica, please wear clothing that covers your shoulders and reaches the knee. We also suggest comfortable shoes for your visit.

Important Notice for Visitors

The Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica enforce strict entry regulations. All visitors must pass through metal detectors, and the following are strictly prohibited: weapons, sharp or blunt items, glass bottles, alcohol, aerosol sprays, large luggage, oversized bags, selfie sticks, bicycles, skates, segways, and pets. A free cloakroom service is available after security screening.

Please note:

  • On Wednesdays, St. Peter’s Basilica is closed due to the Papal Audience. Tours on these days include an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.
  • Occasionally, St. Peter’s Basilica or the Sistine Chapel may close without notice. In such cases, the tour will be fully conducted within the Vatican Museums (approx. 3 hours).

Accommodations

This tour is not suitable for wheelchair users. If you or anyone in your party has mobility concerns (such as using crutches or a wheelchair), please get in touch with us ahead of time. We can arrange private tours to accommodate these and other specific needs, but please request this in advance.

The Vatican Museums offer free admission to disabled visitors with a disability rating of 74% or greater. Visitors who require assistance are also entitled to a free entry for their companion.

Booking Cancellation Rules

To qualify for a full refund, cancellations must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to the experience start date.
